The 2010-2011 school year was another successful year for the PTA.  Our thanks go out to our families and friends for supporting the school through our fundraisers throughout the year.

Additionally, our PTA Membership Drive brought in $5605.00.

As we do every year, the PTA supports many important programs for the school including the Science Fair, Science Enrichment programs like COSI and Crystal Clear Science, Everybody Counts, Fire Prevention Week, Catholic Schools Week, and Used Uniform Sale/Spiritwear.  This year, the PTA donated $1000 to the school’s Annual Fund.  The PTA also funds an $800 scholarship to an 8th grade student who shows exemplary service to our school in honor of  Lisa Ventre.

Our teachers are our most valuable asset to Guardian Angels.  We have supported them by paying for seminars, workshops, and graduate level courses for Continuing Education.  We have also reimbursed our teachers for classroom supplies each year and have purchased higher ticket “wish list” items totaling $17,725.65 this year.  The Teachers’ Luncheons and Teacher Appreciation Week are additional special treats that the PTA hosts as a “thank you” to our outstanding teachers and staff.

The PTA will also provide a major contribution to the school this year which will be funded by our earnings from the 2010/2011 school year.  We are working in collaboration with Mr. Kenny to decide on the perfect gift.

The Technology Fund was once again supported by the Kroger Card Program.  This year we raised $15,359.68 and were able to purchase many technology items including the remaining Smartboards, accessories, and ongoing maintenance along with numerous support contracts as well as the complete campus wireless study to ensure our computer resources are state of the art.

The PTA is grateful for all the support of our families and we look forward to continued growth and enrichment in the 2011-2012 school year.

Respectfully Submitted,
Carrie Spitzmueller, PTA Treasurer
