Fine Arts
One of the hallmarks of Guardian Angels is the centrality of the arts. In developing wellrounded students, the school’s fine arts program encourages an awareness and appreciation of talent, beauty, and diversity. Music and art classes embrace the correlation between the arts with other subjects the children are studying. Music education begins in Kindergarten. As students mature, several instrumental and vocal opportunities are offered beyond the classroom. Performance bands, competitions, concerts and theatrical performances allow students to sharpen their abilities and widen their perspective. Students perform in the Christmas Concert and Spring Concert and prepare special liturgical music for school Masses and prayer services. Guardian Angels’ art educators organize the art curriculum to include fun, creative learning experiences involving art appreciation, history, and production. Classes include basic art principles such as focal point, variety, and balance as well as instruction in drawing, painting, sculpture, and handcrafts. The spring Art Show celebrates the children’s artistic achievements.
